We’re showing no signs of slowing down here at Executive Network Group, as we welcome not one, not two, but three brand new faces to the team! Adnan, Sophia and Greg have all joined one of our Superbrands with a wealth of experience between them.
Adnan worked in education recruitment for over five years, most recently Protocol Education. Now he recruits within hard services at operations level and above for The FM Network.
Sophia previously recruited for IT within the public sector, and sales executives within steel and metal. She now works for The HSE Recruitment Network supporting public sector, 3rd sector and the transport industry.
Greg has roughly six years experience within recruitment, having started out as a trainee consultant mainly working within the aerospace and automotive industry. He spent the last five years doing engineering and manufacturing, but now works for Procurement People recruiting within the construction industry.
We’re so excited to have these brand new faces on board! Read the interview below to find out more about the newest #RisingStars of Network House…
Where did you work before you joined ENG?
Adnan: Protocol Education for five years.
Sophia: Concept Resourcing for just shy of three years.
Greg: Consilium Recruit in Worcestershire
What drew you to recruitment in the first place?
Adnan: I guess I have always been a people person. I never dreamt of becoming a recruiter. After university I worked in the automotive industry but quickly came to realise that I really enjoyed networking and helping others. Recruitment is a basic practice and my methodology is to keep things simple. I guess understanding people and comprehending was quite natural to me, and after my first few months in recruitment I realised that this is a career that I would like to seriously pursue. 5 years on I am still in recruitment!
Sophia: Coming from a sports background I am very competitive, which lends itself to the recruitment industry. I enjoy building relationships and the buzz of a sales floor! I now would not do anything else!
Greg: I’ve had a background in sales and by luck I secured an interview with my first recruitment company. Up until I had started in the position I really didn’t know what to expect. I enjoy most aspects of recruitment – client relationship building, placing candidates and the rewards you can get within the industry.
Describe your personality in three words.
Adnan: Lively, Passionate and Crazy.
Sophia: Determined, Dedicated and Competitive.
Greg: Grafter, Trier and Dependable.
One of ENG’s strongest values is inspiration. Who inspires you the most?
Adnan: Mohammed Ali – he was just hilarious in his TV Interviews. I loved his trash talk and his confidence, but the best part was he could always back it up with his performance in the ring. He walked the walk and talked the talk.
Sophia: Heather Fisher, killer England rugby player and inspirational woman!
Greg: My Dad because he is always putting our family first. He saves his money for his children and grandchildren and when asked for one thing he wants to do now he is retired, his response was to watch his grandchildren grow old. He has taught me valuable lessons in life and I’m extremely grateful for everything he has done for me. If I could be half the man my Dad has been I know I will succeed.
What would you do if you didn’t work in recruitment?
Adnan: Honestly I have no idea!
Sophia: I have no idea either! Probably use my degree and start up my owns Sport Therapy Clinic?!
Greg: I would probably still be working in sales.
How do you spend your spare time?
Adnan: I play cricket for a Sunday league team and train a few times a week. I love spending time with my daughter too.
Sophia: Gym, socialising with friends, traveling and currently renovating a house!
Greg: I enjoy spending time with my six year old boy and my girlfriend. I’m also a keen snooker and pool player playing in local leagues.
What are you most excited about working at Executive Network Group?
Adnan: I am excited to be part of ENG! As the newest addition to the group I am excited to be on the journey to success. The best thing about working at ENG is the values they have. I have never come across these before in any other company that I have worked for previously and feel as if the values are a massive contributor to the success achieved here.
Sophia: Excited to be apart of a competitive company with a strong vision for 2020.
Greg: The chance for progression and to be recognised for my achievements.
