An exciting opportunity for an experienced Toolroom Supervisor to join a modern manufacturing facility producing complex high value components for the automotive industry.
Toolroom Supervisor – Die Maintenance
Excellent Salary + benefits
Location: Telford
Duties:
Reporting to the Toolroom Manager you will be responsible for the maintenance of the production tooling along with supporting the Toolroom Manager in the smooth running of the domestic toolroom.
Mainly working in the office, but still able to provide support to the toolroom, this position is working on a permanent day shift, Monday to Friday.
o Support planned and breakdown maintenance on tooling plus managing preventative maintenance programmes, working as a team or on an individual basis to achieve the company goals.
o Preparation and maintenance of existing high pressure die casting tooling
o Supervise toolmaking team – training, first line discipline, housekeeping, improvement activities o Identify day to day tooling issues and implements corrective action where required.
o Ensures all tooling is safe and production ready at the time returned for production use, following correct preventative maintenance (PM) process.
o Manage and prioritise labour to tooling breakdowns in accordance to the production department requirements.
o Monitor the use and stock level of spare parts, reporting when spares need to be re-ordered.
o Carry out weekly 5S audits and ensures actions are completed.
Experience required:
Applications are sought from experience Toolmakers or Die Maintenance Technicians with Supervisory or leadership skills and experience
o Demonstrate strong leadership and management of a large team of skilled die maintenance technicians.
o Time served toolmaking / toolroom apprenticeship
o Experience in repair/ maintenance of large ( upto 50T) die casting or plastic injection mould tooling or similar dies in a domestic toolroom
o Ability to follow and execute the preventative maintenance program.
o Strong communication skills at all levels within the business.
