Head of Operations
Managing multiple sites
Salary up to £90,000 + up to 15% bonus, generous pension contribution and a car allowance
North West UK
An exciting opportunity has become available in the North West area of the UK managing multiple sites for a Head of Operations to lead the Mill Operation and Blend Plants within an organisation. As their Head of Operations you will be managing colleagues, equipment and raw materials but also implementing processes and procedures as well as play the key role in setting and managing production goals. Part of a wider group, you will be working in the Agriculture business, and therefore previous experience of working in a Mill is essential for this position.
The role includes:
Desirable skills needed for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field
- Extensive experience in mill operations, with a proven track record of successful Leadership
- Strong technical knowledge of milling processes and equipment
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed decision
-Experience developing and implementing health, safety and environment policies and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management principles

- To develop and implement operational strategies to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost goals across all mill operations.
- To lead production, coordinate the activities of production teams to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- To manage the maintenance and repair of mill equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.
- To implementation health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- To prepare and manage the mill's operating budget and monitor financial performance to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- To monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
