A Telford based manufacturing business are seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join their team as an Operations Manager (Warehouse).
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of improving processes within a warehouse setting, as well as a strong knowledge of ERP systems and experience in successfully implementing new systems. This is a £10m turnover business who are looking to strengthen their financial position within the next 18 months to 2 years.

Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:-
- Managing inventory levels, optimizing workflow processes, and ensuring efficient production schedules are met.
- Leading a team of warehouse staff, providing training and guidance as needed to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Supporting the Operations Director you will play a key role in upgrading our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform, introducing a Warehouse Management System (WMS), as well as collaborating across departments, empowering colleagues and helping ensure customers and partners always choose us.
- Helping build a strong supply chain. Working closely with our supply partners, monitoring and reporting on supplier performance, plus ensuring we’re communicating clearly and professionally with suppliers at all times
- Identify and implement operational and warehouse process improvements, removing both duplicated effort and documentation, including removing activities that add no or little value
Accountability for the purchasing, shipping, storage and distribution of all customer stock to agreed schedules - Implementation of agreed stock management strategy, ensuring robust stock planning and forecast/schedule management to maintain stock to agreed customer levels whilst avoiding over-stocking and potential stockouts
- Effective and efficient deployment of staff. Including proactive management, coaching and performance reviews of the Ops and Warehouse team
- Demonstrably working closely and with respect across departments to optimise process improvements and improve both our customer and employee experience
- Develop and deliver plans to boost operation performance with the introduction of WMS and upgrade our ERP, working with agreed partners and technology
- Help rationalise Operational and Warehouse reporting to ensure we focus on core KPIs and automation of analytical reports required for stock planning
- Play your part in helping continuously improve and make the business become a stand-out supplier of choice, as well as a great place to work and a great partner to work with
- Experience in working in and taking the lead in an Operations Manufacturing and Warehousing environment
- A proven and tangible track record of success in a Senior Leadership Role
- Experience in digital transformation – strong knowledge of NAV2016, ERP, WMS and upgrade experience from an ERP to MS Dynamics Business Central (desirable)
- Strong communicator internally & externally
- Strong project management skills, a goal-oriented proactive planner
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise, organise and juggle a demanding workload
- A hunger to grow oneself, alongside business growth
