About the Role:

I am currently recruiting for a leading full-service machinery distribution and after-sales business who are on the search for a highly analytical and proactive QESH Analyst to support the effective functioning of the QESH Team.

This role plays a key specialist support function within the central QESH department, with a strong focus on analysing and utilising QESH/ESG data to drive sustained business performance improvement. The successful candidate will support strategic projects, reporting requirements and continual improvement initiatives across Quality, Environment, Sustainability, Fleet and Health & Safety disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyse and report QESH/ESG data to support key performance indicators (KPIs) across:
  • Environment & Energy: greenhouse gas emissions, SECR, packaging waste EPR, battery sales and returns, waste, water use, energy consumption, business travel, downstream customer impacts and upstream supplier impacts
  • Quality: delivery defect reports (DDRs), engineer service defects, warehouse picking errors, courier errors, customer complaints and survey results
  • Fleet Management: vehicle inspection completion rates, training compliance, driving style performance, van weights, travel distances and times, engine idling and emissions
  • Health & Safety: accident and incident rates, near-misses, safety observations and occupational health data
  • Undertake research to identify and propose improvement opportunities
  • Develop robust business cases using QESH/ESG data to support capital expenditure (CapEx) and continual improvement projects
  • Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of strategic QESH initiatives, progressing toward autonomous project management
  • Verify effectiveness of improvement projects and drive corrective actions
  • Identify and progress continual improvement initiatives
  • Maintain QESH software systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability, including acting as document controller
  • Prepare content for internal communication programmes, including intranet updates, events and training materials
  • Attend and support internal audits and external third-party certification audits, including follow-up corrective actions (ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and FORS)
  • Analyse internal audit findings to support QESH management focus areas
  • Support global ESG initiatives led by the QESH Manager and Group Sustainability Manager
  • Assist with supplier management and procurement exercises
  • Support integration of business acquisitions to align with business standards
Personal Specification:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or sustainability-related discipline
  • Passionate about reducing environmental impact, improving product and service quality, and enhancing health and safety standards
  • Methodical, analytical and science-based approach with high levels of accuracy
  • Strong communication and presentation skills aligned to business strategy
  • Proactive work ethic with professional, multi-disciplinary mindset
  • Advanced IT and software proficiency
  • Excellent data processing, analytical and reporting capabilities
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with high standards of numeracy and literacy
  • Growth mindset with willingness to learn complex subject matter
