Field Service Engineers – Heavy Plant & Construction Machinery
£21.00–£24.00 per hour + overtime | Company Vehicle | 40 Hours per week | Essex & Norfolk

We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Field Engineers to join a well established and growing machinery business, supporting customers across Essex and Norfolk.

This is a great opportunity for a technically strong engineer who enjoys working on a varied range of machinery and wants a role where no two days are necessarily the same.

The business specialises in machinery across the construction, forestry and recycling sectors, including telehandlers, rollers, mini diggers and other heavy machinery. You’ll also be working across a variety of engine types, including Kubota and Yanmar, giving you plenty of technical variety.

The Role:

As a Field Engineer, you’ll be responsible for travelling to customer sites to carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
• Working on a range of construction and heavy machinery.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Completing PDI's, service records and repair documentation accurately.
• Identifying parts required to complete repairs.
• Providing clear technical reports following completed work.
• Working closely with Service Controllers and the wider engineering team.
• Communicating professionally with customers and machine operators.
• Ensuring machinery is repaired and maintained to a high standard.
• Supporting customers with machine operation and relevant health & safety information.
• Providing feedback on recurring faults and customer issues.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.

About You:

We're looking for someone who is technically capable, reliable and with a can do attitude.

You may currently be working as a Field Engineer, Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, or in another similar engineering environment.

You'll ideally have experience working with heavy machinery and be confident with fault finding across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. The ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics is important.
