Senior Quality Engineer
Telford

Technical Network are leading a search for an automotive manufacturer based in Telford. Are you a seasoned Senior Quality Engineer with a strong background in the automotive industry? Are you well-versed in Core Quality Tools and have experience with IATF 16949 audits? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Quality Laboratory and Metallurgy teams to ensure they achieve their targets and inspect the submitted parts on time.
  • Own and drive process capability – CP/CPK on all developing programs (SPC, CM and in process gauge development Design, Quote, Procurement, Validation).
  • Review component drawings and understand the application requirements for each component with dimensional studies on finished goods with road maps as required.
  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
  • Lead and conduct quality audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, materials, and finished products.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to manufacturing teams to improve quality and reliability of products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for supplier quality assessments and audits to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the supply chain.

Skills and attributes: 
  • Strong understanding of Core Quality Tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and PPAP)
  • Proficient in and learning the Business Operating Systems (IATF 16949)
  • Experience in an automotive / high volume manufacturing environment 
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering
  • Problem Solving Skills – PPS / 8D / Six Sigma
  • IATF / TS16949 Internal Auditor
  • To be computer literate and able to use MS Office package (MiniTab would be an asset)

Shift:
Mon-Thu (8:30am-5pm) Friday (8:30am-2pm)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
