Head of Organisational Development

Hampshire – hybrid working
£85,000 - 95,000 + bonus
Network HR have been retained on a new engagement to recruit a Head of Organisational Development for a national, private equity backed organisation based in the Hampshire area.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer and working as part of the People Leadership Team, the purpose of this role is to define and implement a strategy to build organisational capability across the business. The role balances ownership of the Talent Development strategy as well as driving a positive, high-performance culture in line with our values, supported by effective communication and engagement strategies. .
This organisation is on a journey. They have ambitions to create a culture of self-initiated learning, where professional development is a constant pursuit and not just a tick-box exercise. They have a great core learning & development infrastructure already, but this role will steer the strategic agenda and stitch it together with the broader People, Talent and Culture strategies.
• Build, lead and manage the Organisational Development team
• Develop and implement inspiring and comprehensive talent development, communication & engagement and cultural development strategies, underpinned by data and insight on both employee engagement and retention.
• Continuous improvement of the quality and efficiency of the frontline sales induction programme, working closely with the Head of Talent Development to ensure this sits hand in hand with the recruitment process.
• Build and drive a culture of development across the organisation, where development is a shared focus of both employees and leaders, and innovative strategies for driving development are used.
• Develop and oversee the performance review process, driving great performance and development conversations across the business.
• Build an organisational capability strategy, including succession planning and talent development activity.
• Design and embed our leadership and management development strategy, including a clear leadership development framework creating a pipeline of future leadership talent.
• Provide “thought leadership” and act as trusted advisor to Senior Leadership colleagues around matters of organisational capability, culture and work behaviour
• Lead and embed a strong e-learning strategy.
• Work with the Internal Communication and Engagement Manager to continually develop our employee engagement strategy and approach, including strong links to our company values.
• Work in partnership with the Head of Talent Acquisition, key stakeholders and wider People team to develop a strong employer brand internally and externally
• Responsible for understanding your departments Business Continuity Plan and being able to comply with it in the event of an incident or disaster.
Candidate background
• Background in OD or L&D with experience of enabling behaviour and culture.
• Experience in entrepreneurial, fast growth business, preferably with exposure to volume driven sales and/or contact centre environments.
• Senior leadership team experience.
• Ability to build high performing teams
• Able to build and maintain strong trusting relationships that enable the role holder to challenge with empathy and to influence behaviours and outcomes
• Strategy design and implementation within People Development, Communications and Engagement
• Comfortable with use of data to provide insight and enable data driven decisions
• Experience of building, developing and leading a learning and OD team
